CBD Isolate vs Full-Spectrum Extracts

CBD Isolate vs Full-Spectrum Extracts

What is CBD Isolate? and What’s Full Spectrum CBD? Check out the complete comparison.

If you have been searching for CBD products online, it is quite possible that you have come across the terms “isolate” and “full-spectrum”. These two are used to identify the types and amounts of cannabinoids you could expect from a particular hemp CBD product.

The hemp CBD industry has quickly become one of the fastest growing industries within the natural health sector. As different laws around the world regarding the consumption of hemp are being relaxed, we are getting to see plenty of new hemp based products.

Cannabidiol, or CBD for short, is one of the many cannabinoids that are present inside the hemp plant. Both CBD and THC are present in higher quantities as compared to their counterparts, however, each cannabinoid can have different effects on the body. To understand the difference between CBD Isolate and full-spectrum CBD, it is important to first look at what each of those represent.

What is CBD Isolate?

CBD Isolate can be considered as the most pure form of CBD. It is free of any impurities and contains nothing but pure CBD. While CBD Isolate might look basic at first glance, it is quite difficult to produce. The hemp plant is put through a number of different processes to remove other cannabinoids and plant materials, i.e. plant waxes, flavonoids, chlorophyll, terpenes, etc. Once that is done, extra steps are carried out to isolate the CBD.

CBD isolates can be consumed in a number of different ways, depending on the requirements of the user. To read more about CBD Isolate, check out our article here.

What is Full-Spectrum CBD?

Compared to CBD Isolate, products with full-spectrum extracts contain the whole range of cannabinoids found inside the hemp plant in addition to other beneficial aspects of the plant. Once the full spectrum extract has been yielded from the hemp plant, that extract is mixed together with other ingredients and is put into a consumable product.

A big concern that a lot of people have regarding CBD products is the presence of THC. Since Full-Spectrum CBD contains everything, it also has trace amounts of THC inside it. This is not a big concern, however, as federal laws require that all CBD products must be extracted from hemp which already contains less than 0.3% THC. All of the products offered at Bloom Hemp are THC compliant.

At one point, CBD Isolate was thought to offer more benefits as compared to full-spectrum extracts, but the opposite is now considered to be true. Full-spectrum products can cause an entourage effect because all the cannabinoids, terpenes, etc. present inside the plant are working in synergy with each other .

CBD Isolate or Full-Spectrum: Which one should I pick?

Now that we have explained the difference between CBD Isolate and full-spectrum CBD, the question you must have is, which one is the right option for you? There is no definite answer to that as each have their own benefits and it is a matter of which one you find the most beneficial for you.

CBD Isolate is perfect for those who want to avoid THC at all costs, especially if they undergo regular drug tests at work. It is odorless and tasteless, which is something that certain people prefer. Additionally, there is a greater control over serving size and it can be mixed with food easily.

On the other hand, the biggest advantage to full-spectrum is the entourage effect that it offers. It is also considered the closest thing you can get to the original plant. Some people may find the aroma and strong taste to be unpleasant, in which case an isolate would be a better option. Since full-spectrum contains traces of THC, it may also cause a positive drug test.

At the end of the day, you should go with whatever works best for you. Here at Bloom Hemp, we offer a variety of hemp based products including CBD isolate and full-spectrum, providing you with an opportunity to experience the entourage effect firsthand.
