Nature’s Ozempic: Bloom Hemp Advanced Focus Tincture

While Ozempic, a prescription medication primarily used for managing type 2 diabetes, has attracted attention for its efficacy in controlling blood sugar levels and promoting weight loss, recent research indicates that natural compounds such as THCV (Tetrahydrocannabivarin), CBG (Cannabigerol), and CBD (Cannabidiol) may present distinct health benefits without some of the side effects linked to pharmaceuticals (Jay et al., 2017).

THCV, also titled as “diet weed,” has shown potential in initial studies for its ability to regulate blood sugar levels and curb appetite. Unlike THC, THCV does not instigate psychoactive effects, making it a desirable alternative for individuals seeking to manage their weight and metabolic health without inducing a “high” (Jadoon et al., 2016). Jay et al. (2018) discovered in their research published in the “Journal of Clinical Pharmacy and Therapeutics” that THCV could enhance glycemic control in individuals with type 2 diabetes, hinting at a potential role in diabetes management, similar to Ozempic.

CBG, albeit lesser-known than CBD, has shown significant potential in scientific research. It has anti-inflammatory properties which can contribute to overall health and well-being (Pavlovic et al., 2018). Inflammation is a common factor in multiple chronic ailments, including diabetes. By reducing inflammation, CBG may alleviate some complications associated with diabetes. Intriguingly, a study published in the “European Journal of Pharmacology” emphasized CBG’s ability to lower intraocular pressure, hence, suggesting its usefulness beyond metabolic health (Borrelli et al., 2013).

CBD, arguably the most researched cannabinoid because of its varied therapeutic benefits and widespread availability, has shown potential roles in anxiety reduction, neuroprotection, and anti-inflammatory effects (Mead, 2017). For individuals with diabetes or those at risk, CBD may be particularly useful due to its stress-relieving properties, as stress is known to worsen blood sugar fluctuations and lead to weight gain. McNamara et al. (2010) in the “American Journal of Pathology” suggested that CBD could be instrumental in improving insulin resistance and augmenting heart health.

Unlike Ozempic, with potential gastrointestinal side effects such as nausea and potential long-term effects on pancreatic health, THCV, CBG, and CBD offer a more comprehensive approach to similar conditions management, with fewer reported side effects (Fung et al., 2018). These natural compounds function by interacting with the body’s endocannabinoid system (ECS), which plays a key role in maintaining homeostasis across various biological functions, including mood regulation, appetite control, pain perception, and immune response.

Consultation with a health professional like our Green Nurses is essential for individuals contemplating alternative treatments before making any therapeutic regimen changes. As the supporting evidence for THCV, CBG, and CBD use continues to grow in reputable scientific publications—highlighting their potential as complementary or alternative options—the decision should be based on individual health needs and medical advice.
