Grilling isn’t often enough considered apart of healthy living. With the addition of CBD infused BBQ sauce, any grilled delicacy becomes an essential part of a healthy diet.
Sweet & Smoky CBD Infused BBQ Sauce
The art of cooking isn’t for everyone at first, but in a day and age where most store-bought items contain some type of artificial junk, cooking can quickly become a preferred past time. Making anything recipe from scratch allows you complete control over every aspect of the dish – including flavors and CBD dosage. CBD infused BBQ sauce is a great way to add CBD to any of your favorite recipes coming off the grill. With CBD relatively new to most people, figuring out how to use CBD can be difficult. That is why we provide comprehensive explanations on how to use CBD and how CBD works. Before we dive into our CBD infused BBQ sauce, we want to provide a couple of quick resources on how to use CBD.
Sweet and Smoky CBD Infused BBQ Sauce
A homemade sweet and smoky CBD Infused BBQ sauce with a kick.
- 2 tsp Coconut MCT Oil (Only if you’re using CBD Isolate)
- 1 gram CBD Isolate (Unless you’re using pre-made CBD Oil)
- Use the desired dose of CBD oil if you’re not using CBD Isolate
- 1 tsp Coconut MCT Oil
- 4-5 cloves Garlic
- 1 cup Organic Ketchup (Substitute: ketchup with organic tomato paste mixed with orange juice/water)
- 1/4 cup Water
- 1/4 cup Apple Cider Vinegar
- 1/3 cup Brown Sugar (Substitute: Brown Sugar with Coconut Sugar)
- 1 tsp Paprika
- 3-5 tsp Smoked Paprika (Add more smoked paprika as desired for smoky flavor)
- 1-2 tsp Chili Powder (Spice to preference )
- 2-4 tsp Cayenne (Spice as desired)
Heat MCT oil for the sauce in a small saucepan on medium heat (Do NOT add CBD infused oil yet)
Once hot, add garlic and saute until garlic is soft (2-3 minutes)
Add remaining ingredients and cook for 3-5 minutes. Stir well and check taste often.
Reduce heat and let the sauce simmer for 10-15 minutes. Stir occasionally.
You’re now set to enjoy this sweet and smoky CBD infused BBQ sauce. We like to soak whatever we are grilling in the sauce before we grill to get a little extra flavor into the meat.
There are two ways you can go about prepping your CBD for this recipe.
If you’re using CBD isolate: Use the double boiling method to infuse CBD isolate with MCT oil. Dose as desired. We used 1 full gram of CBD isolate with 1 tablespoon of unrefined coconut MCT oil for this recipe.

Feel free to swap our coconut MCT oil for a carrier oil of your preference. Avocado oil, olive oil, hemp oil, and almond oil are all carrier oils that would work as well.

How to Use CBD
I used this sauce on a tasty pasture-raised, grass-fed steak. Before grilling, I put a nice layer of sauce over each side of the steak to soak. 45 minutes later I slow cooked this CBD soaked steak to perfection. The sauce had a noticeably relaxing kick as I used a decent serving after the grilling was finished.
